The Nike Air Max Tailwind 4 “USA” takes inspiration from USA Olympic uniforms of the past with a special red, white, and blue colorway of the classic running shoe. First released back in 1979, the Tailwind model holds the distinct honor of being the first Nike design equipped with an Air Sole cushioning unit. Fast forward to 1999, and the fourth iteration of the Air Max Tailwind was released. The Air Max Tailwind 4 made its first-ever retro return in 2019, which included this special "USA" edition. Covering the upper is a navy blue textile base with mini-Swoosh prints, layered with matching leather panels. Red and gold accents and white-to-navy gradient TPU stripes complete the exterior, while a tartan plaid print covers the inner lining. Putting the final touches to the “USA” Tailwind 4 is a white foam midsole with visible red Max Air units and a deep blue outsole. The Nike Air Max Tailwind 4 “USA” was released on September 10th, 2019.
